NA Hotel
Sihanoukville, Cambodia

Amid the unstoppable process of urbanization that heavily affected Sihanoukville over the past decade, the project resembles a post-apocalyptic scenario, where nature reemerges and wins against concrete. Inspired by some fascinating abandoned concrete villas in the near province of Kep where tropical vegetation took over, the project intentionally recalls instability and the delicate balance between urbanization and nature that our generation is facing.

The visual ax that connects the mountains with the ocean creates two separate towers, dedicated to the hotel rooms. The towers float on top of a common platform that hosts the reception lobby, the coffee shop, the restaurant, the pool, and the landscape. The pool and the other amenities are located in a central position on the lower floors in a shaded and ventilated space. The extensive use of plants on the lower floors and around the building helps to create a fresh microclimate and to provide shade and privacy.
